Get ye down to the Chew Jetty for Bangun!
Tonight’s performers include street poetry, action theatre, Chinese opera and performances by local youths who attended the workshops over the last 3 days.
The rain’s even stopped!

Just a few choice ones taken by Alan, our excellent volunteer.
Still lots more happening so be sure to drop in!

Yes, it’s been pouring. We’re having minor setbacks as we had to restrategize for the rain. Despite the minor setback, we’re still having the workshops which are held everyday at 10am and 12pm. We urge you to come prepared with umbrellas and raincoats. Most importantly, non-slippery shoes or thongs as the timber decks can be rather slippery (we have the statistics) . Of course, short pants are encouraged as well.
Also, come tonight for the ‘art on sea’ performances and have a blast with us, for the people of Penang and the jetties clan. Till then, we will continue to sing under the rain! *fingers crossed*

Art On Sea is a special installation project five minutes by boat from the Clan Jetty. On this stage, you’ll hear ambient electronic music as u float across the Straits. Tickets are 20RM donation and available to book now. Avoid disappointment, reserve your place today!

Bangun Festival fully encourages all artists and performers to jump on the bandwagon and come down to perform. It’s open to all! Just turn up and shout, sing or celebrate however you like. It its good enough for Edinburgh, it’s good enough for us toooo!

Ello!
Be sure to check out our updated programme for all the times and locations of our performances over the three days on two stages – Art On Jetty and Art On Sea.
Cheers!
